Location

The Himalayan Lodge is located in the historic Old West Side neighborhood, just west of downtown Ann Arbor.  The Lodge is a 10 minute walk to Ann Arbor's vibrant Main Street. Kerrytown Market & Shops is a 15 minute walk.  The University of Michigan's central campus is about a mile from the Lodge, a 20+ min walk.  You will enjoy this quiet neighborhood near the center of town.  The Huron River is also nearby and is a great place to walk, bike, hike, kayak, run, float, picnic and more.  All Ann Arbor has to offer is within easy access.

Nearby:

Behind the school across the street is a giant grassy field to run around in.  There is a volley ball and basketball court there also.   Across from the field on 8th St. is a cute little neighborhood park, Waterworks Park, with a playground and sandbox for kids.  Eberwhite Woods, a beautiful natural area with trails, isn't far.

Downtown

There are many restaurants within walking distance on Main Street.  Also the Ark, an amazing, longtime 'listening room' for live music, is a gem.  Several shops will keep you busy on Main Street, including The Himalayan Bazaar.  The downtown library is on Fifth Ave between Liberty and William Streets.  The best movie theaters are a mile from the house on Liberty and State Street, The Michigan Theater and The State Theater.

Sports

The University of Michigan sports fields, stadiums, arenas and courts are roughly within a walkable 2 miles of the house.
